Tuesdays - upcycling - morning activities open to all Thursdays - independent living skills
Our workshops are for anyone 16+ with autism spectrum conditions, such as Aspergers Syndrome and high functioning autism. They are designed to provide opportunities to meet different people, learn something new, practice work skills, develop your self confidence, and get involved in peer mentoring.
Our full summer programme starts on Tuesday 18 July. Workshops will then run every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer holidays with an extra trip to Newmarket and the horseracing museum on Wednesday 19 July.
Tues 18, 25 July, 1, 8, 15, 22,29 August and 5 September—our exciting new upcycling project involves learning practical hands on upcycling skills in the morning followed by varied afternoon sessions including short visits to source furniture, the ethos behind recyling, pricing and marketing sale items as well as volunteering and community engagement, and sales opportunities.
Tuesday morning upcycling workshops – now open to all. Join us in our lovely converted barn in the peaceful countryside setting at Swaffham Bulbeck.
Community price – 16 years plus £25 per morning. Existing and new Red2Green learners please get in touch for booking details and prices.
Please check when booking as some workshops may require attendance for more than one week to complete your project.
Tuesdays 18 & 25 July Mosaics - Bring in an old picture frame and any old and broken crockery to create your own mosaic design to take home.
Tuesday 1 August Bring in an old bottle and take home a trendy new lamp or vase!
Tuesday 8 & 15 August Stencilling workshop - Bring in a piece of furniture you wish to give a new lease of life to. Previous examples include footstools, shelves, chair etc.
Tuesday 22 August Decoupage workshop - bring in a storage box, magazine rack, recipe box, sewing box etc. Then we will show you how to use your favourite items to create your project – this might include comics, maps, recipe books, newspaper, wall paper – the choice is yours.
Tuesday 29 August Join us to make a wind chime or clock
Tuesday 5 September Celebration community coffee morning - showcase your work and share your new skills with the community.
Thurs 20, 27 July, 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 August and 7 September—our innovative independent living skills workshops are perfect for anyone wishing to increase their independence, as well as those at school/college who may benefit from this useful and very practical holiday activity. Supported trips out, shopping and travel training and cookery are just a few of the items included.
